Black Stars Head Coach C.K Akonnor has handed call up to three players of the victorious Black Satellites squad.

The trio, Ibrahim Danlad, a goalkeeper of Asante Kotoko who was adjudged the overall best goalkeeper of the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations in Mauritania, Philemon Baffuor of Dreams FC who plays at right back and Fatawu Issahaku, a player of Division One side Steadfast FC who was also adjudged the overall best player of the Nations cup.

The three players will team up with the rest of the squad on Tuesday, March 16, to continue preparation for the two remaining Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Ghana will take on South Africa on Match 25 before hosting São Tomé and Principe four days later.

The Black Stars sit at the top of Group C with 9 points and are in search of a ticket to the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

Ghana Black Satellites won the Under 20 Cup of nations hosted by Mauritania in 2021. In the tournament saw most of the Satellites players playing to the satisfaction of Ghanaians.

A lot of the players where expected to make the final squad of the Black Stars ahead of their African Cup of nations qualifies against South Africa and Sao Tome and Principe.

Percious Boah of Dreams Fc, Samuel Ashie Abbey Quaye of Accra Great Olympics, Danlard Ibrahim of Asante Kotoko, captain Daniel Banie Afriyie of Accra Hearts of Oak, Fatawu Ishahaku of Steadfast in the division one league and Philemon Baffour of Dreams Fc.

Ghana Won the Under 20 Cup of nations competition through the efforts of the above player and their efforts has earned them a national team call up.

Prior to the competition in Mauritania, Ghana Black Satellites won the Under 20 wafu zone B tournament which was hosted in Ivory Coast. The team after winning the Cup in 2020 December was still not seen as the best side to conquer Africa in the U20 Cup of nations.

The first game of the Black Satellites against Tanzania in the competition proved that the boys could struggle in the tournament. Again, the Abdul Karim Zito’s side proved why they are regarded as the best currently.

The efforts of Philemon Baffour, Danlard Ibrahim and Ishahaku has earned them a national team call up under Black Stars head coach Charles K. Annor.

The young players are expected to join camp soon as the black stars prepare for their cup of nations qualifies
