Ghana Premier League Match Day 27 Preview: Legon Cities vs Elmina Sharks

Legon Cities have responded very well to their one nil loss to Berekum Chelsea three weeks ago as they went ahead to put three behind the net of two of the top three teams afterwards. Their recent burst in energy coupled with electrifying results can be said to have come at the right time with just eight league games to go.

Securing a historic win against Kumasi Asante Kotoko last weekend after a win against Medeama and holding title holders Hearts of Oak to draw in both legs this season, the royals could be said to be a tormenting group for top teams and favorites for their tie against relegation battling Elmina Sharks.

The Royals all but certain win against Elmina Sharks this can be well validated this weekend considering the fact that they have failed to score only once in their last five top flight league games, a game in which they lost (3W 1D) as well as scoring thrice in two consecutive matches.

Relegation battling Elmina Sharks who were held to a 1-1 draw at home by RTU last weekend would pay a visit to the El-Wak Stadium with 2 wins to their name in the past five games (2D 1L).

Sitting at 18th with 9 points adrift of safety, the Sharks must produce consecutive wins in order to shield themselves agains relegation to the 1st division.

With their survival at stake, it is very worrying to have them not being favorites of this tie but certainly they would put up a big fight to ensure they secure a place in the top flight league coming season
