The story of coaches in the 2020-21 Ghana Premier League



Before the start of the Ghana Premier League 2020-21 season, most coaches were tasked to handle their teams to success with all the players signed to improve their squad.

The league started with sixteen local coaches with four foreign coaches. The foreign coaches are Goran Berjektarevic of Legon Cities, Slavisa Bozicic of King Fisal Milovan Cirkovic of Ashgold and Henrik Peters Lehm of Inter Allies. Slavisa, Goran and Henrik Peters managed the team in the truncated 2019-20 League season

Hearts of Oak, Medeama, Asante Kotoko, Liberty Professionals, Aduana Stars, WAFA, Dreams fc, Great Olympics, Bechem United, Elmina Sharks, Techiman Eleven Wonders, Berekum Chelsea, Karela and Ebusua Dwarfs were managed by Ghanaian coaches in the first round of the Ghana Premier League.

Coach Evans Adotey and Stepehen Abugri took over Karela United before the start of the 2020-21 premier league, whiles Bechem United Coach Ernest Danso was handling the team for some time. Paa Kwesi Fabian was in charge of Aduana Stars whiles Wilfred Dormon was managing Dreams fc, Coach Yaw Acheampomg was in handling Sharks, Annor Walker with Accra Great Olympics. Coach David Ocloo with Liberty Professional and Ignatius Osei Fosu managing Eleven Wonders.

The story of the coaches started in week three of the premier league where Legon Cities lost to Accra Great Olympics, it was the end of Coach Goran Berjektarevic of Legon cities. The team employed a Ghanaian coach Bashir Hayford to take over.
Unexpectedly, Asante Kotoko parted ways with their coach Maxwell Konadu who came back for the second time in his coaching career to handle the Asante Kotoko team, he was fired after losing to Great Olynpics.

Slavisa Bozicic was fired after winning just a single game for King Faisal and the job was handed over to Nana Andy Sinason.
Dreams fc also decided to appoint former Vision Fc Coach Vladislav Viric to take over the team and Dormon was given a new role as an assistant coach.
Hearts of oak appointed a new head coach and Nii Odoom returned to the youth team.

The movement of the coaches continued until week 17 where Samuel Boadu joined Hearts of oak from Medema SC, Great Olympics assistant Coach Yaw Preko took over Medeama sc as the head coach . Yaw Acheampong moved from Elmina Sharks to become the assistant coach of Medeama sc. Coach Joseph Asare Badiako took over Aduana Stars as the head coach.
After the first round of the premier league, eleven clubs have parted ways with their coaches whiles seven are still in charge.

Bechem United, Eleven wonders, Great Olympics, Ebusua Dwarfs, Liberty Professionals and WAFA and Karela United have kept their coaches in the first round
